The Submarine Institute of Australia Conference in 2025, the 20th for the SIA, will be held in Perth WA in partnership with Defence West and Business Events Perth.
“In two years US and UK submarines will be operating from Australia as part of the Submarine Rotational Force,” commented SIA President Michael Fitzgerald.
“As this critical milestone in the optimal pathway for the acquisition of nuclear powered submarines by Australia rapidly approaches, the Submarine Institute of Australia, in partnership Defence West and Business Events Perth, is excited to head to Western Australia in August to promote informed debate on submarine matters”.
"The Submarine Institute of Australia's return to WA will showcase our State's critical role in supporting the delivery of conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines to Australia,” commented Defence Industries Minister Paul Papalia.
"The conference is an opportunity to showcase what WA and its growing defence industries can offer on a world stage”, Palaia continued.
"I am also looking forward to the knowledge sharing the conference is renowned for as we head into the next stages of AUKUS," he finished.
“Hosting this event highlights Western Australia as a premier destination for business events from diverse sectors, drawing leaders across government, defence, industrial and academic disciplines to our State. It not only strengthens Western Australia’s standing in the defence industry but also drives the local visitor economy,” said Business Events Perth CEO, Gareth Martin.
“This will be the 20th conference convened by the SIA,” added Fitzgerald. “It will bring together leaders, operators, builders, maintainers, thought leaders, and innovators from across the globe from Navies, Government, Industry, Academia, and the research community to explore the opportunities and challenges presented in operating, acquiring, and maintaining a submarine force as a critical part of Australia’s Defence strategy”.
The SIA Conference 2025, Nuclear Submarines in Australia, will be held 18-20 August 2025 at the Pan Pacific, Perth WA and tickets are now on sale.
